BRRRRR!

It's so cold outside (17 degrees and it was 75 yesterday). Logan and I are stuck in the house for the day, so I figured why not blog a little. Logan isn't feeling well today he's been sleeping all day and when he's not sleeping he's fussing, poor little guy.

I got a new job a couple of weeks ago. I am working with my sister at a gym in the kids area. I get to take Logan with me for free and I get a free gym membership- I've used it one time!!! Oh and to help time go by a little faster today;I am ashamed to admit I ate a whole can of cinnamon rolls by myself so I am going to need to use my membership at least 10 more times just to work off all those calories.

I'm am not at all ready for Christmas, I'm one of those last minute shoppers and honestly I thought I knew what to get everyone, but someone keeps changing his mind on what he want to get. Gift cards may be the way I go, who knows. We are having a really tough time deciding what to get Kailea for Christmas. Her tastes change everyday and I never know if what we get her will be what she wants.

I went to pick Her up on Friday so she could spend the weekend with us. She is a card! She was telling me how one of the girls in her class was mean to her. I really had to look back and try to remember if I had the same problems when i was her age. She just seems so much more grown up then i was at 8 years old.

Thats about all I have to say for now and it sounds as though my sick boy needs my attention.

What a week!

I really am terrible at keeping this thing up. My ultimate goal was once a week, but I am a really boring person and don't have that much to talk about :). This past week has been super busy and to be honest it's 1:15 today and I am still in my pajamas and the house is a mess, because I simply don't feel like doing anything.

It all started a couple of weeks ago when Hal's great grandpa broke his hip and pelvis and was admitted into the hospital. He passed away last Monday. It was a very sad day. Also on Monday we found out his dad had been admitted into the hospital for an unknown reason, they are running more tests soon to find out why he was having problems. Yesterday Hal's grandpa was admitted to the hospital because he lost all feeling in all 4 limbs and fell and hit his head and gashed it open. We did have one good day that Hal, Kailea, Logan, and I went to the park. It was so nice- in the 60's and we played for a long time.

Oh and do you see the band aid over Logan's left eye. That is where he fell and cut his head open on our bed frame on Thanksgiving.

That's about all for now I think. hopefully I can get on here again before the new year!

Halloween and other fun stuff.

We had a pretty good Halloween. My mom bought Logan a monkey costume that was so cute. I didn't want to take him trick-or-treating so we went to a nursing home with one of my friends and her kids and took treats to the residents. The old people LOVED the kids and their costumes and the kids did really good- there were no meltdowns until we left the nursing home. Then afterward Logan and I took treats to my mom and Hal's mom.

We are gearing up for the holiday season around here. I am so proud of myself I have Logan's presents bought for his stocking and I have decided what I am getting everyone else. Now I just have to go and get it :). I decided to get a part time job in the evenings to help out with Holiday expenses. So I have been applying like crazy. I went out the other night to apply at the grocery store I used to work at. It looks pretty promising. When I left Logan and Hal were eating dinner, when I got back about 30 minutes later this is what I came home to:

I was kinda in a bad mood, but after I saw that- who can help but smile.

Selling Avon is going pretty well (Heather's commercial insert here: if you wanna buy from me go to www.youravon.com/heatherwheatley). I really enjoy it, but I am a horrible sales person so I only have like three or four customers- thank goodness for moms and grandmas.

Hal is doing good. He really likes his new job. The only thing that stinks is he's working 10-11 hours a day Monday-Friday and usually a few of Hours on Saturday. So they keep him really busy. He's also started filling in on a Volleyball team on Monday nights. I haven't gotten to watch him play yet- I've been working at church on Monday nights for about a month.

Kailea is doing well. Not much to report on her. I took her to see High School Musical 3 the weekend it came out. It was the first time we had "Girl time" since Logan was born and we both had a lot of fun. She's like any other 8 year old girl- she loves those movies. I think she was a hick for halloween- we haven't seen her since then so I am not sure. She is supposed to visit this weekend so we should have a lot of fun.

Logan is getting so big. He now has his own room and has his own twin size bed. He usually will go to sleep in his bed and sometime in the night come get in bed with us. I told myself when we put him in his own bed that if that happened I would walk him back to his room, but usually I don't remember him getting in bed with us. If he gets too much bigger we will have to kick daddy out of the bed :). He LOVES Veggie Tales. He has a stuffed Larry that he carries around everywhere and if I pull out a Veggies Tales DVD case he goes crazy. He loves to dance to the theme song. I also like them- the earlier I can get him involved in Bible Stories the better.

Other than that not much else going on. I just have one more picture to post. No real story to it except I think it's cute and my dad loves doo-rags so I took the picture for him.

Kansas

This past weekend Allyson and I took a short trip to Kansas. I wasn't sure how Logan would do in the car, but all in all he did good. He had his DVD player and watch Veggie Tales and Slept most of the time. Allyson on the other hand had a few difficulties. I think she learned not to spit out the window of a moving car, I however had a good laugh when her spit came back and hit her in the face. We saw a lot of family and we had a good time visiting grandma. Logan ate some dirt and that was fun. Friday, we went and visited EduCare and Logan got to meet some people that I worked with. We also went to my Aunt Sherry and Uncle David's house. Logan had a good time playing with their grandson David. And David was so good to share his hat.

Then we went to Logan's first Football game. He LOVED the band and of course the cheerleaders, who weren't really cheerleaders at all. They were more cheerfollowers. The crowd would start a cheer then they would realize they weren't doing their job and then join in the cheer.

Lastly on Saturday, Logan got to meet two of my best friend from High School, Dawn, and Angela. He decided to put his whole hand in the Salsa bowl and ate it before I could stop him. That was not a good idea. He burned his little mouth :(

That was about it. I was going to take his picture at different places around Grandma's house, but I had too much fun visiting and forgot. Oops!

just another week

This week has been an interesting one. On Thursday Logan and I were in the car and I heard him make a choking noise in the back seat. I turned around to not a pretty sight of Logan's lunch that he had an hour before. I pulled to the side of the road and cleaned him up and went straight home. He was fine after that, but his daddy and I weren't. I spent the the next day on the floor in the living room with Hal on the couch. The bug we caught was not a nice one.

On Saturday, I was supposed to help with a baby shower, but considering the sickness in our house I decided to just take the things I was assigned and not stay. Adrienne helped me make the cake and I left it there so I didn't have to transport it twice. I went to pick it up and Logan was sleeping so I thought I will just run in and get it and come back out. It would have worked well, however, the keys got left in the ignition and I apparently bumped the door lock on my way out. When I got back to the car Logan was awake and Yup you guessed it all of the doors were locked. Hal, who was at work making up the hours he lost on Friday, Had to come rescue Logan.

Also Saturday was the much anticipated RED RIVER RIVALRY. One of the biggest games of the year for OU when they play the Texas Longhorns. And OU lost. We didn't mourn too long, but it was a disappointment.

Coming up for this week Allyson, Logan, and I are making our way up north to Kansas. That should be an interesting trip. I can't wait to introduce Logan to some friends and family who haven't met him yet. I don't have any cool pictures to post this week, but I should next week.

MY FIRST BLOG!!!

I am sure everyone starts off their first blogs the same way. I really have never blogged before, blah, blah, blah and the same is true of me. I don't know if this is something I will like or if this one first blog will be my last. Who know?

So Logan turned one last weekend and that was a fun time. He was spoiled rotten and got a TON of toys. This is now what my dinning room looks like:

And that's not counting the overflow of toys that are in my living room and hallway. He loved his cupcake he got to dig into. I was a little disappointed that he didn't make much of a mess, but none of the cupcake went to waste, and suprisingly he crashed about 5 minutes after I cleaned him up. He even slept through an OU football game at my parents' house, which in itself is amazing!

Kailea is doing well. She is so happy in her new school district and we are trying to enroll her in gymnastics (inspired by the olympics). Other than that she is the same as any other little girl, full of live and loving it. She is such a good big sister to Logan.
Hal just got a promotion at work so no more driving for him. Which also means he isn't so beat at the end of the day. He actually has the energy to play with Logan and we even get to take lunch to him a couple of times a week. Logan is getting to the age when he loves to wrestle and daddy is the best wrestler.
I just started selling Avon this week and I am hoping it will be enough to suplement our income without me having to work outside the house or Hal having to take on a second job.
Other than that we are just living. I would like to ask you all to keep Hal's mom in your prayers. We just found out today that she has some pretty serious health issues that she is going to have to deal with.
